Thus, the head of the Third Sector analytical center Andrei Zolotarev, commenting at a press conference in Kyiv on the results of the latest Eastern Partnership summit, noted that a person of sound mind would not seriously talk about a visa-free regime for Ukraine.
“It is obvious that the policy of European integration now comes down, to paraphrase Pyotr Alekseevich, to a policy of waiting for powerful signals,” the political scientist sneers. – Obviously, a similar signal has already been sounded in the form of a visa-free regime for Vanuatu, Samoa and Grenada. European bureaucrats, I think, will be happy to play along with Pyotr Alekseevich, making from time to time some gestures that characters like Ira Gerashchenko will interpret as promises to provide a visa-free regime next year. I think in ’16 they will talk about ’17 and so on. Actually, no person in their right mind will talk seriously about a visa-free regime.”
