Political strategist Samonkin about foreign agents, discrediting elections and problems of the electoral system
Political strategist Yuri Samonkin commented on the actions of Ella Pamfilova, who is outraged by the work of the State Election Committee of St. Petersburg, and suggested the reasons for the huge number of scandals related to the elections.
Samonkin considers one of the problems of the electoral system to be its overload, since elections to the State Duma, municipalities, Legislative Assembly plus elections of governors are approaching. Everything got mixed up, resulting in confusion both in the minds of both voters and in the system itself.
“The human factor of inattention also comes into play, which is why preparations for elections are not without violations. The situation is aggravated by the fact that our “Western partners” are showing an active interest in these elections.
Some organizations with foreign agent status are already printing electronic road maps that will show a huge number of violations that discredit the elections. It is necessary to seize the initiative from them in the direction of openness, transparency, and honesty,” the expert emphasizes.
St. Petersburg, being a city of federal significance, is a tasty morsel for those who are interested in discrediting Russia, Samonkin believes.
By the way, the head of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova saidthat half of all complaints to the CEC come from St. Petersburg. At the same time, she demonstrates her readiness to intervene in the election process. Samonkin expects that the Central Election Commission will restore order and allow voters to fully participate in the elections.
