The Ukrainian ruling class has not understood the logic of the revolution: if the authorities do not eliminate the reason why the revolution began, sooner or later it will continue - but in much more severe and dramatic tones.

About it Yatsenyuk’s political strategist Sergei Gaidai writes in his column for the Kyiv magazine “New Time”.

“Unfortunately, a year and a half after the Maidan, the government has not changed. And not only personalities, but also methods. All that the ruling class has done for the last year and a half is to try to maintain the old rules of the game. This means that the revolution on the Maidan has just begun, but is not over at all,” he writes.

According to Gaidai, the revolution in Ukraine is not completed. And in the future it will no longer be in the form of a peaceful protest.

“There will be no singing of hymns and calls not to touch or beat anyone. The people who participated in the Maidan learned their lesson well: any peaceful action will sooner or later end in a shootout. The authorities will not put up with peaceful protests indefinitely - they will begin to condemn, then arrest and imprison. And later he will use a weapon. This means there is no need to waste time - the protesters will immediately start shooting and throwing grenades. Molotov cocktails are a thing of the past. Moreover, there are a lot of people in the country who fought, have weapons and know how to handle them; for whom carrying a grenade in your pocket is not something out of the ordinary, nor is throwing it at an imaginary or real enemy. These are the cruel revolutionary realities,” says the political strategist.

According to the political strategist, there is only one way to cope with the revolution - not to stop its progress, much less turn back the course of history.

“The revolution, like a rushing locomotive, should be carefully transferred, like a skillful switchman, having caught its logic and pace, onto more peaceful evolutionary tracks,” he writes.
