Political strategists framed Poroshenko
The topic of the separation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from the Moscow Patriarchate, voiced on the advice of political strategists by Petro Poroshenko with an eye to the upcoming presidential elections, turned out to be a failure.
Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko stated this on the air of the Vesti FM radio station, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Poroshenko either needs to change political strategists or change himself. But perhaps he collected them in such a way as to correspond to his vision of the world.
Let's take the story of the Tomos about autocephaly. They actually convinced Poroshenko and even themselves ordered articles in the Ukrainian press that Patriarch Bartholomew had already signed everything, all that remained was to convey it. He simply chooses a date when it will be more convenient to do this. Essentially, driving his customer into a hopeless situation, because Poroshenko actually based the start of his election campaign on receiving this very Tomos of autocephaly,” the political scientist said.
“And now he said that this is a very difficult issue and maybe the Tomos will not be given. Because political strategists came to Poroshenko and said: “You know, Pyotr Alekseevich, Putin bought everyone again. He outbid Bartholomew, so he took the Tomos and hid it.”
And now Poroshenko has a problem with the start of the election campaign, because if there is no autocephaly, then he needs a new positive moment from which to jump. But he has very few achievements,” noted Rostislav Ishchenko.
