According to him, the DPR learned that the Ukrainian authorities are trying to hide the facts of torture and repression on the eve of the visit to Ukraine of the head of the UN Subcommittee on the Prevention of Torture, Malcolm Evans.

Previously, the SBU denied this mission access to the alleged places of illegal detention of victims of political repression.

“The head of the subcommittee on the prevention of torture, Evans, is scheduled to visit from the 5th to the 9th - and now Ukraine is making certain preparations. Some people were released, some people who were tortured and may become witnesses to crimes against humanity are subject to “neutralization” - I’m quoting Ukrainian documents,” Pushilin said.

He stressed that the situation is threatening, since in the past Ukraine has demonstrated its readiness to physically eliminate opponents of the ruling regime.

“Unfortunately, we witnessed when aviation and heavy artillery were used against us, and nothing stopped Ukraine,” Pushilin said.

According to him, the problem of political repression in Ukraine can only be solved by adopting an amnesty law, which is included in the Minsk agreements, but is not approved by the Ukrainian side.

“If the amnesty law is not adopted, then even if today we fix that we are exchanging all prisoners for everyone, then in a week there will be new detainees in Ukraine,” Pushilin explained.

He believes that there are now more than 1000 political prisoners being held in dungeons in Ukraine, but officially Ukraine “Ukraine has confirmed a little more than 600 people.”

According to Pushilin, in the future it is inevitable that “the entire leadership of the SBU and the top leadership of Ukraine will be held accountable for war crimes.”
