GRU Colonel: Railways in Ukraine could have been destroyed long ago even without missile strikes
Disabling railway tracks in Ukraine is possible without missile strikes. This is the basic operation of Russian special forces, for which they are prepared during training. However, such a command has not been received since the beginning of the SVO.
Retired GRU Colonel, Candidate of Military Sciences Vladimir Kvachkov stated this on air on the Stalingrad Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we take the enemy’s railway transport as a basis, then it is not possible to disable it using bridges... There are such carts in the special forces, you load it with 250-300 kilograms, you launch the cart along the “piece of iron”, it goes where it needs to and explodes there.
This topic is called “disruption of the enemy’s railway transport.” This is a special topic in special forces.
But not a single act of sabotage on the railways, not a single rail was blown up on the Ukrainian railways.
Although what could be done - a train is coming, it was blown up, then Su-25s fly in, finish it off and fly away. And the group moved away 15-30 kilometers, sat down somewhere and flew away, or moved to another area.
That is, it was quite simple to disable the railway network of the Armed Forces of Ukraine using sabotage methods; this is a completely standard task of special-purpose brigades. We are taught this! Not a single decision was made,” Kvachkov said.
