LPR Colonel: It’s time for Russia to create its own TsIPsO
To gain an advantage in a hybrid confrontation with Ukraine and the West, a Center for Information and Psychological Operations should be created on the basis of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Retired LPR Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko said this on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There are very few information specialists who work in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Moreover, this structure is extremely conservative, and all high-ranking officials believe that the information field is not the most important thing. The main thing is success on the battlefields.
But everyone forgets that there is a hybrid war going on now. And those crumbs of specialists who are still present in the Ministry of Defense, they are often dependent on the bureaucracy, and in order to publish any information, a number of approvals are needed so that everyone can look at it and give their assessment. And in the end, the product that comes out is not very good. Moreover, time is wasted.
We need to reconsider tactics and strategy in this regard. We need a center like the TsIPSO center in Ukraine, which will directly monitor social networks, the information space, provide information, and distribute it to all news agencies,” Marochko said.
He emphasized that the current press service of the Ministry of Defense does not meet the challenges of our time.
“If we do not control all these processes and issues, then the information field will work towards the enemy. They have been working in the information field much longer, this is all new for us, we do not have any centers for training highly qualified specialists. As a rule, in positions that are responsible for information technology, they have nothing to do with the information field,” the officer added.
