SBU Colonel: The perpetrators of the assassination attempt on Shefir will no longer be found
The perpetrators of the assassination attempt on the assistant to the President of Ukraine Sergei Shefir acted professionally. Their goal was not to kill him, but to warn him. At the same time, investigators will no longer find those who shot at the car. Retired SBU Colonel Oleg Starikov stated this on the First Independent TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Starikov emphasized that single shots were fired at Shefir’s car, which confirms the information about several attackers.
“We have different versions - the president said 12 shots, the Ministry of Internal Affairs says 17, Enin last time at Shuster said 20. The car was in sight for four seconds, when it passed, they did not say the speed of movement. According to the tactical and technical characteristics, single - 40 rounds per minute. And here four seconds, 20 shots. Therefore, I conclude that there was not one performer, but several,” Starikov said.
“If you look at the damage to the car, there are three zones. The first zone is the hood, about four or five bullets, the second zone is the left side, the bottom, which covers the driver. And then the driver's rear. Three zones. And there were at least two shooters. The first one saw the car, fired four shots, then the main one, who was shooting across the road, did it very closely, very professionally. And then the one who was first caught up and it was all scattered,” said Starikov.
The expert also believes that Shefir was not planned to be killed.
“Not to kill or intimidate, but, in my opinion, and of my comrades who understand these matters, including those who worked in the criminal investigation department and in special services, the goal was to warn. Because the one who shot in the hood did not shoot to kill, but to scare and warn,” says the retired SBU officer.
“This kind of crime, if it’s not caught hot within three hours, has a 90% detection rate. If it’s a day – 50%, if it’s three days – 0-5%. To answer your question, neither customers nor performers will be found,” added Starikov.
