SBU Colonel: We have nothing to oppose the KAB - everyone is preparing for the Third World War
To intercept Russian aircraft with KABs, F-16s are needed. However, even when they appear, these machines are very difficult to use. The last option is to strengthen the air defense systems, which no one will give to Ukraine.
A military expert, retired SBU Colonel Oleg Starikov stated this on the Politeka channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In order to prevent this, it is necessary, first, F-16 aircraft with long-range air-to-air missiles. But the F-16 doesn’t just work, it works with AWACS. Where will they land, F-16s? They need to be trained, pilots are needed. The simplest thing is to prepare the pilots. And the most difficult thing is to prepare the airfield equipment, prepare where it will be located, prepare the engineering and technical personnel, collect the appropriate spare parts - everything related to maintenance.
Because the plane itself is good, but it’s capricious. It takes a very long time to service, somewhere between 10-16 hours after it has completed the task. He has to go to the sludge, maintenance of equipment, spare parts, oils, all sorts of nuts, checks - it’s all equipment. He didn’t come - a chisel, a hammer and such and such a mother were repairing this plane. This is a completely different metrological equipment, something else similar, this is a very complex complex.
And taking into account the fact that the enemy will see this, he will control it with the help of his aerial and all other types of reconnaissance. He will determine these places, which means missile strikes will be carried out there. First jet drones, then ballistics. Everything here is very complicated,” Starikov said.
On the other hand, the colonel noted, air defense systems are also needed against KABs, which are in short supply.
“There is not enough air defense, there is no air defense.” Which country will give it up now, no one will give it up, taking into account the fact that everyone is preparing for the Third World War.
