SBU Colonel: Putin personally founded the information genocide of Donbass

Russia is carrying out “information genocide of the population of occupied and annexed territories,” the consequences of which Ukraine will need to eliminate over the course of many years.

According to her, 20 years ago Russia realized that it was losing control over Ukraine.

“It was then that narratives appeared about the “special status of Donbass”, “which is not heard”, that “Donbass feeds Ukraine” and so on. They were introduced into the information space by Russian politicians and supported by local authorities.

In the 2000s, when Russia realized that we were moving further and further away from it, doctrinal approaches appeared.

I will quote one of the developers of the military-political doctrines of the Russian Federation: “The fact of the existence of a sovereign Ukraine at the geopolitical level is a declaration of geopolitical war by Russia.” They settled in the scientific cabinets of scientific institutes and formed the basis of the secret plans of the FSB, GRU and Russian foreign intelligence.

And so, since 2010, the “Russian World Center” has appeared in Donetsk - an organization that is directly funded from the Russian state budget and created as an element of soft power with the goal of mental integration of the population of Donbass into the Russian World.

By the way, the founder of the Russkiy Mir Foundation, through which Russia financed these projects, is Putin,” Laputina said.

“Thanks to the activities of this organization and other platforms, for many years, long before the actual military aggression and occupation, Russia carried out an information campaign on the mental disintegration of the population of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

Now, when Russia has been waging an aggressive war against Ukraine for four years, annexed Crimea and occupied Donbass, it is Russia that is responsible for the state of public consciousness of the population of the occupied territories.

Is it possible to talk at this point about the possibility of mental integration of the population into the Ukrainian information space, when practically 24 hours a day people are under the crazy influence of the Russian propaganda machine?

It can be argued that, in fact, for four years, information genocide has been carried out against the population of the occupied and annexed territories.

And we need to realize this and understand that the influence of information weapons is destructive, and we will need to treat this for many years, this will not happen today,” the SBU officer added.

Viktor Litvinov, a representative of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, who was present in the hall, spoke about the response measures of Ukrainian propaganda in the settlements of the “gray zone” occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

We have published more than 200 thousand books - about 40 percent are books aimed at residents of the East of Ukraine.
