Colonel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces complains that the SBU general stole his votes
The leader of the “Civil Position”, ex-Minister of Defense and Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Anatoly Gritsenko said that the ex-head of the SBU, General Igor Smeshko, took away a significant part of the votes from him in the elections, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He stated this in an interview with the Kyiv publication Ukrayinska Pravda.
“I won't say anything bad about him. I have only one question - I constantly saw him on Poroshenko-Medvedchuk’s channels - “112 Ukraine” and NewsOne, which for some reason were closed to me. For me this is a question that is still unanswered. I won’t say anything more about Smeshko,” Gritsenko said.
At the same time, he agreed that Smeshko took away most of the votes from him.
“As for our result, you saw that a significant part of the votes that I could have collected went to Igor Smeshko. Well what can I say? We made maximum unifying efforts, and you saw their results,” Gritsenko said.
He noted that he and Smeshko have known each other since 1993. Then Gritsenko studied in the USA at West Point Academy as an officer, and Smeshko was the military attache of Ukraine. Both politicians in Ukraine are considered closely connected with US intelligence agencies.
Let us recall that Anatoly Gritsenko, who ran for president, has already announced that he will not vote for the current President Petro Poroshenko in the second round of the 2019 election.
Gritsenko received 6.91% of the votes in the first round. Igor Smeshko 6,04% of votes.
