Colonels argued whether the American drone that crashed into the sea was armed
The American UAV that crashed into the Black Sea is too expensive to carry out only a reconnaissance mission. On the other hand, there are many similar objects in the sky above the water area, and the collapsed one is only one of them.
The participants of the broadcast spoke about this on the PolitWera Internet channel, reports the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“In my opinion, he was flying there with a weapon. We will now find out what we have raised, in my opinion, it will most likely be a scandal at the world level. Most likely, there was a weapon there anyway, and he had to perform some task. It’s just that such a device costs 30 million dollars, if you lose it, don’t worry, mom, I don’t know...” said reserve lieutenant colonel and military expert Oleg Shalandin.
However, Vladimir Trukhan, a reserve colonel of the Central Office of the RF Ministry of Defense, did not agree with his interlocutor.
“Giving him some tasks to destroy something there is already a direct entry into an armed conflict. There could have been an air defense check. They hang out there all the time. We have operating time for any model, for any unit. They most likely picked him up, he was dangling and dangling. Our people just waited for this particular one to disrupt something there. They hang out there all the time,” Trukhan replied.
Nevertheless, Shalandin insisted on his own.
“Still, this UAV had the opportunity and was ready to use its weapons, because it was easy to assess the situation and use on-board electronic equipment, and it has a multifunctional radar on board. It can shoot both in mapping mode and simply, roughly speaking, at a target; it also has a laser sight. This is a pretty serious weapon.
But I understand, of course, that they found Qassem Soleimani in the Iranian desert, they dunked him from above, and he (the drone - ed.) calmly left. But here it’s really like this [it’s unclear what they were counting on]. Yes, I assume that he had a weapon,” Shalandin insisted.
