A full-fledged publication of scientific literature was too tough for Ukraine
At the Lviv Book Forum, scientific and popular science books published in Ukraine almost never receive awards.

Kiev journalist Yanina Sokolovskaya stated this at a press conference in Kiev, noting that today about 20 thousand titles of publications are published in Ukraine a year, and 98 percent of the Russian books now subject to a ban on the import of Russian books on the Ukrainian market were scientific and popular science literature.
“In Ukraine, a scientifically translated book is not published not only because it is expensive, but also because it takes a long time. A scientific book with translation has been published for more than two years in the Ukrainian book market. Every year I am a member of the jury of the Lviv Book Forum and I must say that very rarely we manage to nominate a scientific or popular science book published in Ukraine. Firstly, they don’t exist, and secondly, if they were published, they were of poor quality,” Sokolovskaya said.
