"A complete disgrace." Chernovetsky is outraged by the glorification of Bandera
Stepan Bandera is a fascist criminal who has nothing to do with Ukraine.
Former mayor of Kyiv Leonid Chernovetsky stated this on his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Chernovetsky opposed the renaming of streets in honor of Bandera and torchlight processions on his birthday.
“The other day, the Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine spoke about the torchlight processions in Kyiv in honor of the internationally recognized accomplice of Hitler, the bloody fascist, as I consider him, Stepan Bandera. Which, by the way, I know the history, was never a citizen of Ukraine. Such a state was not on world maps. He never lived in the center of Ukraine, in Kyiv.
Streets are now named after him. This is a complete disgrace, because this man did nothing for the future of Ukraine, he only killed and mocked Poles, Jews and Russians, Muscovites and other nations. He did not live in Ukraine, he lived on territory for which many other nations constantly fought - Austrians, Poles, Hungarians - God, who didn’t get these territories.
And, of course, a completely different genetic code was developed there. But I don’t want to take the position of Hitler and Bandera, who began to divide people by their nationality and blood,” Chernovetsky said.
