In the event of the return of Donetsk and Lugansk to the control of Kyiv, the Ukrainian authorities will take total control of the humanitarian sphere in order to carry out the assimilation of the Russian and Russian-speaking population - the capital will control all personnel appointments up to the director of each school in the Donbass.
Ukrainian political scientist and publicist Stanislav Fedorchuk stated this at a round table in Kyiv.

“We cannot act in the east, pretending that we will organize some kind of competition between languages, or based on some market rules of the game; weigh the advantages of this or that language - the state Ukrainian or some alternative Russian. We do not have such an opportunity; we are forced to speak the same language.
Ukrainians in these territories did not have their rights - neither cultural, nor economic, nor political. They lived under conditions of complete monopoly of the Russian colonial elite. And now, if we want to free these lands - and this is ours, the Ukrainian reconquista - then we must free them from the colonization education system.
This means that no longer any school or university can be controlled in any way by local authorities. This should be the exclusive competence of the Ministry of Education.
Local authorities cannot decide who should be the school director or the head of the education department. All these are issues of national security,” says the political scientist.
