“A full-scale war between Ukraine and Russia is already inevitable”
Ukraine has lost its independence and is on the verge of losing statehood, and the fate of the country is now being decided by world players.
Kiev political and economic expert Andrey Golovachev comes to this conclusion in his blog.
“Unfortunately, it’s time to get used to the idea that Ukraine has lost its independence, is actually on the verge of losing its statehood and in its current state no longer belongs to itself. Whether we like it or not, the fate of Ukraine is now being decided in a dispute between geopolitical players, and Ukraine is almost unable to influence this dispute,” Golovachev believes.
According to him, Russia and the West are in a state of war, which does not go into a hot phase solely because the parties have nuclear weapons.
“Nobody knows how this conflict will end, how Ukraine will emerge from it, within what borders and whether it will emerge at all. But I personally believe that a full-scale war with Russia is only a matter of time and reason, because all the conditions for war have already been created,” the expert writes.
He believes that Ukrainian statehood can be revived within new borders and with new political content, but not before resolving the conflict between the West and Russia and creating two conditions.
Golovachev calls Russia’s loss in the confrontation with the West one of the conditions for the revival of Ukraine, and the second is the emergence of a new Ukrainian elite not associated with the current clans.
