The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this on the YouTube channel “Sputnik in Russian,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Taking into account the fact that it is already a cold period of the year, taking into account the problems in Ukraine with coal, fuel and electricity in general - the current government, in order to hold on, and protest sentiments are really present, they can resort to distracting attention by aggravating the situation on the front line . We have been observing Ukraine throughout this entire period of time and, of course, we see that illogicality and, somewhere, self-destruction are inherent in today’s Ukraine. Therefore, we must be prepared for any development of events,” Pushilin said.
According to him, despite the fact that the priority is to resolve the conflict through diplomatic means, Donetsk is also ready for a forceful scenario on the part of Kyiv.
“But as soon as Kyiv crosses this line and tries to resolve the conflict militarily, our hands will be free. I assure you, we will be forced to concentrate not only on defense actions in terms of our position as such,” the head of the DPR emphasized.
