“Complete dictatorship, absolute monopoly,” - the commander of the DPR about the situation in the economy after the murder of Zakharchenko
The DPR economy is in a state of “complete dictatorship and absolute monopoly.” The former head of the DPR Security Council and commander of the Vostok battalion, Alexander Khodakovsky, stated this on the air of the Dialog Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A lot of problems are emerging now and they cannot be ignored. These problems increase the outflow of population from the territory...
The trends today are not the most fun. We must not forget that the blockade that was organized for us from practically all sides is the most powerful factor. If earlier we could trade calmly with Ukraine and could more or less support some kind of market, now there is no market.
There is an imposed price, it is impossible to go beyond this price, no one can find any alternative channels for selling products. Because “from above” it was ordered to work only with these enterprises, to work only at this price and according to those schemes, according to those rules that are directed “from above” and dictate to the enterprise.
Therefore, unfortunately, there is no need to talk about our capabilities. There is such a situation and it is as it is. Overall, everything we do is aimed at overcoming this situation. Because it is impossible to take any particular direction out of context, there are no separate issues, it’s all interconnected. The military situation and the political situation directly affect our economy. Everything here is artificial; there is absolutely no market. Perhaps in the area of food. In all other respects, our market is practically dead, and there is no alternative. There is a complete dictatorship, an absolute monopoly on everything.
We need to, I won’t say put up with it, but we need to somehow get along with it, because so far, in the near future and under this government, I don’t see and can’t see any changes. Everything is lined up so that it will be like this,” Khodakovsky said.
Let us recall that last fall the Council of Ministers of the DPR announced the signing of an agreement on “socio-economic partnership” with Vneshtorgservis CJSC (VTS), a commercial structure associated with the fugitive Ukrainian oligarch Sergei Kurchenko, whom the press at one time called “Yanukovych’s wallet.” Previously, he was declared persona non grata in the republic, however, it seems that everything changed after the death of DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko.
The Ukrainian side claims that today the military-technical cooperation controls the entire economy of the DPR – large industrial enterprises, supplies of coal, fuel, etc.
