The publication indicates that the British Council, an international organization designed to develop cooperation in the field of education, culture and the arts between Great Britain and other countries, conducted a survey among 1,2 thousand Ukrainians aged 16 to 35 years, who are “future leaders” and “ the key to prosperity and stability of Ukraine.”

“The authors of the study are surprised that 41% of young Ukrainians look to the future with optimism, “given the events of 2014, the ongoing conflict in the east of the country, and the great challenges facing the new government,” Izvestia writes. – 28% believe that nothing good awaits Ukraine, and the future will be worse than it was before the Maidan. At the same time, in Eastern Ukraine, more than half of respondents (54%) are pessimistic.”

There is a very significant number of young people who do not connect their future with Ukraine.

“Despite the fact that 82% of respondents consider themselves patriots of Ukraine, 45% dream of emigrating and another 5% are going to leave the country in the near future,” the publication points out. – Most believe that they can earn more money abroad. Young Ukrainians also note that there are no job opportunities in the country, “there is no real democracy and law,” and military operations continue. More than half of the respondents want to study abroad, 12% have specific plans to study in other countries.”
