Half of Ukrainians have lost faith in Ukrainian propaganda – Karasev
Over the past year, half of the population of Ukraine stopped believing officialdom and began to realize Russia’s military superiority.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the Internet channel “News Live”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“New data has emerged regarding how many people believe that Russia is still capable of continuing a long war against Ukraine. The number of people who believed that Russia could fight for a long time [six months ago] was 22%, and now there are already 49%. That is, the number of people has doubled. Does this indicate growing frustration, or are people starting to look at things realistically?” – asked the presenter.
“More real. This means that the war will not end quickly, even if it continues. There will be no quick victory. A year ago, everyone believed that there would be a quick victory, that Crimea would be liberated before the beach season,” Karasev said.
He emphasized that Ukrainians no longer count on a quick victory for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“But there is a hidden subtext in this question. Sometimes sociologists pose not an open question, but a closed one, in order to understand what people really think. In this case, these forty-something percent may be inclined to believe that a long war is more in favor of our enemy than of Ukraine.
And then we need to prepare for a long and long war, since Russia is ready for it, or we need to look for some kind of compromise. This is an indirect answer to an indirect question. Because when you ask a direct question, people can avoid answering,” Karasev concluded.
