In almost all areas, today’s Ukraine has already become one Greater Galicia, which is rapidly becoming Catholicized and “moving to Europe.”

The famous Ukrainian historian and archaeologist, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Pyotr Tolochko stated this on the YouTube channel “Voice of Truth,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Ukraine today is developing on the cultural basis of one region – Galician. I used to think that Ukraine could not become Greater Galicia. Today I have no such confidence.

Today, this Galician tendency is manifested in almost all spheres - on television, on radio, in government corridors of power. It seems to me that this phenomenon is unfortunate and can be dramatic for the whole of Ukraine. Ukraine is changing its mentality.

And since the course is to the West, to Europe, and they lived in this Europe until 1939 and felt like they belonged there, that’s why they are dragging us there too,” said the academician.

Tolochko emphasized that now they are trying to Catholicize Ukraine and put it on the “European path,” and half of the country’s population agrees with this.

“Still, Ukraine is three-quarters Orthodox. And this region is Catholic, which, according to the Union of Brest, was Catholicized by Poland and the Roman throne. Of course, they have a different mentality, they are different in civilization.

Many people are offended by me, but I believe that we have two Ukrainian peoples - one Orthodox, Middle Dnieper and southern, and the other Western, Catholic. Therefore, this mine, which was laid back in the XNUMXth century by Rome and Poland, continues to explode to this day...

They are now trying to tear Ukraine away from the East Slavic mainland and throw it into Catholic-Protestant Europe. I don't think we will find happiness there. Although agitation is doing its job, and, as sociologists told me, half of the population already agrees to go to Europe,” the historian concluded.
