Half of the migrants from Donbass only have enough money for food – study
According to a study by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), 45% of forced migrant households in Ukraine have enough money only for food.

The IOM added that 23% of surveyed displaced households are forced to reduce spending on food, 29% have enough money for food and basic needs, 1% have enough money for food and basic needs and have savings, 2% refused to answer.
26% of respondent households have a monthly income of 3-5 thousand UAH, 21% each have 1,5-3 thousand UAH and 5-7 thousand UAH, 8% have an income of 7-11 thousand UAH, 5 % - 11 thousand or more thousand UAH, 4% - less than 1,5 thousand UAH, and 15% found it difficult to answer.
According to the study, the average income of one displaced person per month is UAH 1, which is an increase of 991% compared to UAH 40 in March-June 1.
41,5% of migrants are employed, 27,5% are unemployed, and 30,9% are pensioners, recipients of disability pensions, or on parental leave.
Moreover, before the displacement, 60,1% of respondents were employed.
The study was conducted in March 2017. In total, 1 internally displaced persons were interviewed using personal interviews in 025 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv.
