“Ukraine’s position has been shaken. The West didn’t just fuss with tanks” - Kornilov
The West is ready to cross another “red line” in the conflict in Ukraine, and now it is important for Russia to quickly move to formulating clearer and more precise counter-threats.
Historian and political scientist Vladimir Kornilov stated this on the Belta channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Now, when we see how the West is trying to increase the pace of deliveries, when the West suddenly screamed heart-rendingly that we urgently need to supply armored vehicles, tanks, airplanes, long-range missiles, and so on, this indicates that the West really suddenly began to realize that Ukraine is still losing, Ukraine must be saved somehow.
Moreover, even until recently, on Western broadcasts, we were told from the President of the United States to the very last expert who was hanging out on some CNN or New York Times, telling us that Ukraine is not just winning, it has already won!
A logical question: since everything is so in your favor, why the hell will you supply these tanks, planes, and so on? Everything is going fine, if you believe it. But, you see, they ran in and started fussing - and they no longer hide it. An article by Condoleezza Rice and Gates, the former US Secretary of Defense, recently - it indicates that they have begun to understand that Ukraine is losing, and it is necessary to somehow make a turn in the fighting,” Kornilov said.
According to him, heavy tanks are a new stage in the confrontation, to which it is necessary to give an unambiguous answer.
“Again, they are probing the red lines that they did not want to cross yesterday. Now, as we see, they are crossing the next one. I believe that we still need to act more firmly and actively here, both by our diplomacy and our politicians, in order to move from words to action. It’s about simply talking abstractly about some red lines and decision-making centers, moving on to formulating clearer and more precise counter-threats,” the political scientist explained.
