After the reorganization of the system of executive authorities of Crimea, the composition of the government on the peninsula changed, the publication recalls. 14 ministries, 8 state committees, as well as a number of services and inspections were created. The prime minister now has eight deputies, not five, as before. The first deputy of Prime Minister Sergei Aksenov was Mikhail Sheremet, who was Aksenov’s party member in Russian Unity. As before, he will be in charge of the government's security bloc. Responsible for the sphere of economics and finance (this was handled by First Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Temirgaliev, who resigned two weeks ago “at his own request”) will be Evgenia Bavykina, who worked as the first deputy head of Slavyanka OJSC when it was headed by the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the KFO Oleg Belaventsev . At the beginning of June, Ms. Bavykina headed the Crimea Development Corporation with an authorized capital of 6 million rubles, which will develop the tourism sector. Another ex-member of Russian Unity, Dmitry Polonsky, became Deputy Prime Minister, who will combine the new position with the post of Minister of Information and Internal Policy (he previously held it), as well as the representative of Crimea under the President of the Russian Federation Georgy Muradov. Sergei Donich, Nikolai Yanaki, Larisa Opanasyuk and Ruslan Balbek retained their positions as deputy prime ministers.

Oleg Shapovalov, who previously worked as a judge, was appointed Minister of Justice; Alexander Bakharev, who headed the Kerch city hospital N2, was appointed Minister of Health; the Ministry of Fuel and Energy will be headed by State Council Deputy, ex-member of the Party of Regions Sergei Egorov. The Ministry of Housing and Communal Services will come under the authority of Alexander Zhdanov, who worked as deputy general director and chief engineer of Slavyanka OJSC under Oleg Belaventsev. According to the official version, the previous ministers resigned because they “could not cope with the difficulties of the transition period,” and the number of deputy prime ministers was increased so as not to create a governor’s office.

According to Sergei Aksenov, when considering the candidacies of Evgenia Bavykina and Alexander Zhdanov, he consulted with the plenipotentiary, who “did a lot for Crimea,” including “during the difficult period of the Crimean spring.” “New deputies and ministers were appointed based not on their nationality or place of residence, but only on their professional qualities,” Aksenov assured. At the same time, a government source said that the appointment of “the plenipotentiary’s people” is the result of “behind-the-scenes agreements with Mr. Belaventsev,” who wants to “exert more influence on the Council of Ministers of Crimea.”

Candidates for deputy prime ministers will have to be approved today by the State Council of Crimea.
