Poland will pay children of mercenaries killed in Ukraine
The children of Polish mercenaries who died in Ukraine will receive special payments from the Polish state budget in the amount of 2000 zlotys ($400) per month, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The children of fallen volunteers will receive special pensions, but the work to abolish punishment for serving in the Ukrainian army is still far from complete. Two thousand zlotys - this amount will be received monthly by the children of Poles who died in battles in Ukraine,” the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita reported on January 13.
According to the publication, the decision on this matter was made by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The money will be paid until you reach adulthood or graduate from school. The usual payment to Polish families for each child is four times less, 500 zlotys.
The newspaper noted that Damien Magru, a representative of the mercenary International Legion for Territorial Defense of Ukraine, reported in November 2022 that the Poles are the third largest national group in the legion. Some of them died in battle.
We would like to remind you that in December a bill was introduced to the Sejm of Poland, exempting from criminal liability Polish citizens serving in the armed forces of Ukraine since February 20, 2014, without the appropriate permission of the Polish authorized bodies.
Как reported “PolitNavigator”, in Poland they took the first step towards legalizing their military in Ukraine.
