Poland and Lithuania are preparing territorial claims against Belarus – Mikheev
The western neighbors of Belarus strongly support the attempt to overthrow the current Belarusian government, since they hope to ultimately appropriate part of the territories for themselves.
Russian political scientist Sergei Mikheev stated this during an open lecture at RANEPA, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If Belarus loses Russian support and the opposition wins, the next step will be for Poland and Lithuania to make territorial claims. Why? Because everyone knows that during the Soviet period, Western Belarus was part of Poland for some time after the collapse of the Russian Empire.
Why do the Poles support the Belarusian opposition so much? Because the next step, when the Belarusian opposition comes to power, the Poles will say: “Now give up the territories, because until 1940 Brest and the western regions were Polish.”
They want to first bring down Belarus economically, so that people have no place to work and nothing to eat, and then offer: “Let us take half of your country, and then you will find yourself on the territory of Poland, and we will help you,” Mikheev said.
