Poland will not be able to help Ukraine with gas
The throughput capacity of the gas pipeline connecting Ukraine and Poland does not allow satisfying Ukrainian needs in full.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Kirill Kulikov stated this on the NASH TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the ex-parliamentarian, self-produced gas does not compensate for the deficit.
“The pipe that comes from Poland has a throughput capacity of 25 million cubic meters per day. What the country Ukraine lacks completely, because our minimum daily requirement is about 40 [cubic meters]. There is no way to add anything purely physically to this pipe. Domestic mining is the talk of the town. Filling storage facilities and everything else,” Kulikov said.
As PolitNavigator reported, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky made serious concessions to Poland in hopes of making it easier to obtain American liquefied gas that flows into the Polish terminal in Swinoujscie.
At the same time, experts warn that the project announced by Zelensky’s team for the supply of American liquefied gas from Poland may result in resale Russian fuel at a premium.
