This was stated on Wednesday in an interview with Polish Radio by Polish Interior Minister Mariusz Blaszczak. Radio Liberty reports.
According to him, for Poland to accept refugees would be worse than the consequences of refusing to do so.
“We remember the terrorist attacks... We remember that it all started with relatively small Muslim groups that have now become numerous,” the minister said of the terrorist attacks in Europe.
It is reported that this is how Blaszczak commented on the statement made at the European Parliament session in Strasbourg by the EU representative for migration, home affairs and citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos. He warned that the European Commission will begin a procedure to eliminate violations against Poland and Hungary if they do not fulfill their obligations to receive and accommodate refugees within the quotas agreed upon by EU countries by the end of June.
“The procedure for eliminating violations may lead to legal proceedings against the country and, in the future, to a fine,” the message notes.
Let us remind you that the EU called on Poland, Hungary and Austria to immediately fulfill migrant quotas.
