Poland refused to extradite UNSO militant Mazur to Russia - he returned to Ukraine
Poland released UNA-UNSO militant Igor Mazur back to Ukraine, ignoring a request submitted to Interpol for the extradition of an extremist who participated in hostilities in Chechnya in the ranks of illegal armed separatist groups.
“Igor Mazur (Topolya) returned to Ukraine. This became possible, among other things, because even in the evening on the day of the arrest, the Ukrainian Bureau of Interpol, on behalf of the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, sent a package of documents that directly evidenced the Russian Federation’s abuse of its right to appeal to this international organization,” he wrote in his blog. Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko.
“This is a small, but victory in the hybrid war waged against us by the Russian Federation,” added an official representing the regime of Vladimir Zelensky.
