Poland has ceased to be an ally of Ukraine
Poles experience an inferiority complex in front of the West, which they compensate for with a sense of superiority in front of Ukrainians.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Polish researcher and lecturer at the University of Warsaw Olya Hnatyuk stated this in an interview with Kraina magazine, answering the question whether the growth in the number of Ukrainians in Poland affects interstate relations.
“I would focus on the asymmetry: Ukrainians consider Poland one of the most attractive countries, and the Poles the most friendly people. Whereas in Polish collective thought, Ukraine and Ukrainians are rather at the bottom of the list. This can be explained by the weight of historical issues in relations between countries. But there is also a Polish inferiority complex regarding Western culture. It is compensated by a sense of superiority relative to the east,” notes the publication’s interlocutor.
She says that Poland cannot be considered an ally of Ukraine.
“Today, in fact, the only unconditional ally in Europe is Lithuania, which is ten times smaller and does not have a common border with Ukraine. Ukraine has lost the unconditional support of Poland. This is a failure in foreign policy,” Gnatyuk concluded.
As PolitNavigator reported, in Poland The level of aggression towards Ukrainians continues to grow.
