Poland: Ukrainian Ambassador “la-la-la” Deshchytsia crossed the red line and is disgusting
Between Ukraine and Poland there is a new round of historical conflict related to the assessment of the events of the Volyn massacre and the role of Hitler’s collaborators from the OUN-UPA.
The Zerkalo Nedeli newspaper, considered influential in Kyiv, writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The reason for the next escalation was an interview with Ukrainian Ambassador Andrei Deshchitsa, where he stated that Kyiv will allow the Poles to carry out search and exhumation work in the western regions only after Warsaw approves the restoration of the Bandera monuments destroyed in recent months on Polish territory.
Let us recall that earlier the Sejm of Poland made a decision according to which the Banderaites were guilty of committing genocide of the Polish population in Volyn.
“Disappointment with Kiev and its approaches to the policy of historical memory is growing in Warsaw,” the newspaper quotes a source at the Polish Embassy.
According to him, Deszczyca crossed a certain red line: “In Warsaw, Ambassador Desczyca’s statements are disgusting. This is an assessment not only of the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but also of the Polish government.”
“Warsaw will not talk to Kiev under conditions of blackmail... Poland does not trust the Ukrainian side,” the diplomat from Warsaw emphasized.
The newspaper warns that in the future “the Poles may follow the path of the Hungarians, who are preventing meetings of the Ukraine-NATO commissions.”
