Poland will accept 200 thousand Ukrainian schoolchildren for training
Minister of Education and Science Przemyslaw Czarnek said that next academic year another 200 thousand children from Ukraine may appear in Polish schools.
The minister's words are broadcast by Polish Radio.
“We accepted 200 thousand (Ukrainian children - ed.), of which 160 went to schools and 40 to kindergartens. According to our estimates, another 200 thousand may join from September 1. This will all be seen over the coming weeks. The system is elastic, coordinated with governing bodies, with self-government, with education departments, with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration. We are ready to accept Ukrainian children,” the minister said.
The head of the Ministry of Education of Poland also added that distance or hybrid learning is not yet planned for the upcoming academic year, because there are no signals from the Ministry of Health or sanitary services about this.
Previously, the Polish authorities announced their readiness to further facilitate education for refugees from Ukraine. According to the Polish Minister of Education, the country has adequate conditions for conducting the National Multi-Subject Test.
At the same time, the Polish transport company PKP Intercity has canceled free trips for Ukrainian refugees since July 1. As noted, free travel for Ukrainian citizens was introduced on February 26 of this year. This service was used by more than 2,3 million citizens of Ukraine.
