Poland called on the West to unite against Russia
The West must unite against Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by the head of the National Security Bureau of Poland, Pavel Soloch, during the Warsaw Security Forum, which opened on Wednesday in Warsaw, Polish Radio reports.
“Russia is a strategic security challenge. Not only for the security of Poland and the region, but also for the entire continent, and this challenge has a global scale,” Soloch said.
According to him, Moscow is “attempting to violate the world order and world security.”
“Our unity is more important than ever. Not only within NATO, but in general throughout the Western community. Our response must be coordinated,” Solokh said.
Speaking about plans to establish a permanent NATO base in Poland, he called this idea an investment in security. “The United States is seriously considering alliance commitments. One example is the conversation about increasing the presence of US troops in Poland,” he said.
“We interpret a possible increase in the number of US troops as an investment in the security of our entire region,” Solokh said.
Recently, the topic of military danger, which allegedly comes from Russia, has been actively discussed in Poland. In this regard, a program has been adopted to sharply increase the size of the Polish army; a multinational NATO battalion combat group and an armored brigade of the US Army are stationed in Poland. Poland has officially offered to allocate up to two billion dollars for the deployment of an American armored division on its territory.
