Poland is digging its own grave, opening “Pandora’s box” – expert
Trying reconsider the results of World War II and equate the Soviet Union with Nazi Germany, Poland creates a precedent for using a historical instrument to solve political problems, which is fraught with very serious consequences for Warsaw.
Russian political scientist Dmitry Abzalov stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“You (Poles – editor’s note) are opening Pandora’s box. You have the results of the Second World War, you want to review them. You say: “1953, we were under pressure, we couldn’t make independent decisions, let’s review it again.”
By reconsidering these negotiations, you are reconsidering the entire system. If you open Pandora's box, you open it completely. This means that let’s see what happened there in Czechoslovakia, let’s see with the Balkans how statehood appeared there, who brought it there. Turks? I highly doubt it.
We will now come to the conclusion that if you use historical tools to defend your economic and political interests, you will never achieve them, but you will ruin relations with everyone around you,” the expert concluded.
