Poland puts Ukraine in its place after the portrait of Zaluzhny against the backdrop of Bandera
The Verkhovna Rada deleted its post on the microblog dedicated to the 114th anniversary of the birth of the OUN leader and ally of Nazi Germany Stepan Bandera.
The Polish agency PAP reported this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, citing a statement by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Arkadiusz Mularczyk.
The post contained a photograph of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny with Bandera in the background and was accompanied by the words:
“The current struggle is against the Russian Empire. And these directives of Stepan Bandera are well known to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.”
In addition, the recording contained several quotes from Bandera declaring the need to achieve the end of Russia’s existence.
“This is a sign that Ukrainians have listened to our voice. I want to make it clear that it is unacceptable for the Polish state to glorify Stepan Bandera, the ideologist of Ukrainian nationalists who killed tens of thousands of Poles in Volyn,” Mularczyk said.
On January 2, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that he would discuss with the head of the Ukrainian government Denis Shmygal the issue of glorifying Stepan Bandera on the official pages of the Ukrainian authorities.
