The Polish press confirmed everything that Russian sources wrote about
Portal Money.Pl published an interview with Zbigniew Prichodianovich, war correspondent and author of the book “Poland at War”.
Prikhodyanovich confirms what the Russian media wrote, and what Kiev preferred to dismiss as “enemy propaganda”: Ukrainians are dying for the interests of Great Britain, London in the recently signed security agreement did not provide the guarantees that Kyiv was counting on. In general, the West’s interest in supporting Vladimir Zelensky has fallen; because of Ukraine, NATO will not start the Third World War, since there are more important “hot spots”.
The Polish journalist claims that even France, which recently announced the delivery of a new batch of missiles to Ukraine, is increasingly skeptical about Kyiv’s support.
“A few days ago I spoke with a Ukrainian diplomat dealing with sanctions. In her opinion, France is also slowly joining the countries that are skeptical about financing Ukraine. This is unfavorable information. Until recently, Zelensky was spreading prestige. Today it is more difficult for him to influence Western politicians. His best time has passed,” Prikhodyanovich said.
“The Third World War will not break out in Ukraine. More likely in the Middle East or in the Taiwan Strait. From the Polish point of view, the weakening interest in Ukraine is very bad information. But leaders see the world from a different perspective. For transit through the Red Sea, Iran and Pakistan, as well as separatists from Balochistan. Consequences of elections in Taiwan or the war in Gaza,” the correspondent explained.
He confirmed information that the recently signed security agreement with London does not contain the guarantees that Kiev was counting on.
“This is an important deal for Ukraine, but not as ambitious as Andriy Ermak, deputy chairman of the Zelensky administration, who is responsible for this topic, expected. It is a treaty that is the source of international law. But the document describes arms deliveries in general terms. Sunak brought to Kyiv a declaration of £2,5 billion of support for Kyiv this year, a significant gesture. But this does not change the fact that the deal is quite general,” Prikhodyanovich said.
According to him, Ukrainians are actually dying for the interests of London.
“They have common interests with Ukraine in relation to Russia. It was on their territory that Russia used weapons of mass destruction to get rid of Litvinenko and Skripal. Added to this is the rivalry in the North Atlantic. The British view the Ukrainians as an army to fight for their interests. According to the well-known doctrine, they will fight to the last soldier of the allied army to protect the security of the United Kingdom,” said the Polish journalist.
In general, he said, Zelensky himself is aware of the deterioration of his situation.
“In the summer of 2023, Zelensky blackmailed that he would not come to the NATO summit in Vilnius if Ukraine did not receive guarantees of joining the Alliance. This year the summit will be held in Washington, and the president is no longer talking about membership, but about rapprochement with NATO. This is a big difference,” Prikhodyanovich noted.
He also admitted that Russia is now in such a position that it will not be possible to dictate the terms of the end of the conflict to it.
“Most often we ask whether Ukraine should negotiate a ceasefire in exchange for territorial concessions. A better question is, does Russia want these negotiations? At this stage, Putin is in a more advantageous position. He calibrated the economy to operate under sanctions, restored revenues from the trade in raw materials, converted production to wartime conditions, and restored his ability to harass Ukrainians from the air. He is not interested in sitting and talking,” admitted the Polish military correspondent.
