Polish autocephalous states refused to recognize Epiphanius
The Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church appealed to Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople with a statement of non-recognition of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, a PolyTNavigator correspondent reports.
This is discussed in the statement of the Council of Bishops of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church.
PAOC repeated its position on the OCU, voiced on April 2, 2019.
“We leave in force our positions on the autocephaly of the Ukrainian Church, contained in Council resolutions No. 340 of May 9, 2018, No. 341 of June 25, 2018 and No. 342 of April 2, 2019. The Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church is not against granting autocephaly to the Church in Ukraine on the basis of dogmatic and canonical norms for the entire Church, and not for a group of apostates - schismatics. Departures from the teachings of St. Churches cannot represent a healthy church body. This violates the Eucharistic unity of all Orthodoxy,” it notes.
Earlier, the Council of Hierarchs of the Greek Church on October 12 recognized the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine. After this, the Extraordinary Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church authorized the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, not to mention the Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church Jerome during services because he recognized the autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
