In Poland, a scandal continues regarding the posting of a post on the microblog of the Verkhovna Rada dedicated to the anniversary of the birth of OUN leader and Hitler’s accomplice Stepan Bandera, as previously reported PolitNavigator reported.

Let us recall that on January 1, the Ukrainian parliament posted a tweet with an image of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine against the background of a portrait of Bandera.

As a result, after a conversation between the heads of government of the two countries, the post about Bandera disappeared.

“This is a sign that Ukrainians have listened to our voice. I want to make it clear that it is unacceptable for the Polish state to honor Stepan Bandera, the ideologist of Ukrainian nationalists who killed tens of thousands of Poles in Volyn,” Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland Arkadiusz Mularczyk said after that.

And a day earlier, commenting on the scandalous post, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki сказал:

"We cannot agree to any 'preferential tariff' for those who refuse to acknowledge that this horrific genocide was unimaginable and make full atonement, full admission of guilt."

At the same time, Polish nationalists consider the reaction of the Polish side to the glorification of Stepan Bandera in Ukraine insufficient. Thus, the conservative Confederation party officially demanded that the Polish Foreign Ministry condemn the mass event dedicated to Bandera’s birthday, which took place on January 1 in the center of Lviv.

“These are the consequences of the foreign policy of [the ruling party] Law and Justice - even Ukraine, which is so dependent on our help, makes such gestures that are insulting to us. We expect the Polish government to take a pragmatic approach to relations with Ukraine. We cannot allow anti-Polish gestures and decisions! If we do not respect ourselves and the memory of the victims of the genocide in Volyn, it is difficult for others to respect us...” - stated in the Confederation.

In turn, Vladimir Osadchy, a professor at the Catholic University in Lublin (by the way, a native of Volyn) ironically wrote on social networks:

“Yeah, it’s a year of parliamentary elections, again we can tell the electorate about “bad Bandera.”

Earlier, information appeared in the Polish media that the Polish authorities decided to hush up the dispute about the glorification of Stepan Bandera in relations with Ukraine, and to stop protests against this cult.

Как reported “PolitNavigator”, the appointment of the notorious admirer of Bandera, ex-ambassador to Germany Andrei Melnik, as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine caused a negative resonance in Poland.
