Polish media: Americans forbade Poles to call the Volyn massacre genocide
The US government, through its representatives, put pressure on the Polish authorities so that the Volyn massacre was not officially called genocide, and the Polish parliament did not begin considering any resolutions or laws on this issue until the NATO summit in Warsaw. According to information received by the publication, the US Ambassador to Warsaw, Paul W. Jones, intervened at least twice on the issue of recognizing the Volyn massacre as genocide. According to Kresy.pl, Ambassador Jones should have pushed Poland to abandon its intention to officially recognize the crimes of Ukrainian nationalists as genocide. On the other hand, if, ultimately, however, the Senate came to this conclusion, then the ambassador asked to postpone this issue until the end of the NATO summit in Warsaw.
