A Polish deputy advocated an alliance between Poland and Russia against Ukraine
Poland needs Russia as an ally against a rising Ukraine.
This is what Janusz Korwin-Mikke, a member of the Polish Sejm from the conservative Confederation faction, thinks, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Sometimes I hear: “If you support Russia, go there.” Well, these have NOTHING to do with each other! Even if Russia was terrible and there was cannibalism, I would be for good relations with Russia, because I am afraid of Ukraine growing in power and I want to have an ally behind it,” Janusz Korwin-Mikke wrote on his microblog.
Given the mood in Poland, a significant part of commentators accused him of working for Moscow.
“You need to talk to your management because the narrative is not adding up. So far they [the Russians] are saying that Poland wants to seize Western Ukraine and attack Moscow. So come to an agreement with each other. Because for now this “union” is only possible in your head,” wrote one of the users, addressing the politician as “you,” which in Polish is customary to refer only to close friends.
On the other hand, there were many comments that supported the deputy’s position.
“This cannot be explained to stupid people. Once again, Poland is investing huge amounts of money in something that is doomed to fail. It’s a pity that in Poland there are no seasoned politicians who know how to masterfully play out this conflict. Ukraine has territorial claims against us, and we are disarmed,” another user wrote.
There were commentators who understood that Korwin-Mikke’s main goal was to troll the Polish authorities, and therefore responded in his spirit.
“Great Bandera Ukraine will defeat Russia and NATO, liberate Crimea, Kuban, [Polish cities on the border with Ukraine] Chelm, Przemysl and Rzeszow, and Korwin and his supporters will be locked in a camp in Khoroszcz,” one of them wrote.
Как reported “PolitNavigator”, in July of this year, Janusz Korwin-Mikke predicted an attack by Ukrainian troops on Poland after their defeat from Russia.
