Polish diplomat: “We need to set fire to the Russian Caucasus”
The former Chargé d'Affaires of Poland in Belarus, and now a publicist and political scientist, Witold Jurash, believes that the collective West should support or even create terrorist structures in the south of the Russian Federation.
The author of an article published on the leading Polish information portal onet.pl directly proposes to “set the Caucasus on fire.”
Yurash begins with a conspiracy theory that allegedly extremist movements in the North Caucasus were supported by Russian intelligence services. In his opinion, the extremists taking part in conflicts in the Middle East are former Chechen separatists released from Russian prisons and controlled by Moscow who decided to cooperate with Russia. However, the author does not provide evidence.
“It’s worth asking the question: if Russia has been trying to set Europe on fire for many years, supporting Brexit, Catalan separatists in Spain, the far right in the EU, and has now started a real war in Ukraine, shouldn’t the West directly finance or arm the anti-Russian underground in Chechnya and the North The Caucasus as a whole?,” writes the expert.
The ex-diplomat believes that the West could thus “set fire to the Russian-controlled Caucasus.” At the same time, he acknowledges that there are significant risks when carrying out such an operation. Yurash considers this concept as a response to the participation of Chechen units in the Russian special operation in Ukraine.
Let us recall that Warsaw traditionally supported the Chechen separatists. In the capital of Poland, one of the squares was named after Dzhokhar Dudayev, and many of the Chechen separatists received refugee status back in 1990-2000.
