Poland plans to completely abandon Russian gas, partially replacing it with LNG supplies from the United States, and offers Ukraine to also purchase this gas, but this is not profitable for Ukraine.
Valentin Zemlyansky, director of energy programs at the Center for World Economy and International Relations of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, stated this on air on TV channel 112 Ukraine, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Such a scenario is unprofitable either for Poland or for our country. If Poland believes that its economy can withstand more expensive American gas - for God's sake. This is Poland's problem. The Ukrainian economy is only unable to support American gas. If we have an alternative to supplying Russian gas and supplying the same gas at European prices, then we can maneuver and choose a price offer that is more favorable to us. We have moved away from 100% dependence on Gazprom, and have come to 100% dependence on the European gas hub. They exchanged the awl for soap, and it turned out to be more expensive,” he said.
