The Polish president confirmed his intentions to ask for an expansion of the format of negotiations on Donbass. He said that a stable Ukraine is needed not only in Poland, but also in the EU, since instability in this country will increase the influx of refugees into the EU, which is already suffering from migrants.
In particular, Andrzej Duda said: “Poland, as a member of the EU, wants to show solidarity, but given the increasing problem with refugees, we have special problems due to the conflict in Ukraine. As long as the war continues, thousands of Ukrainians will continue to flee the country, mainly to Hungary and Poland, the president said. – We are the closest neighbors of Ukrainians, and they can feel safe with us. When the conflict starts again, many more refugees will come to us. There are already signs that several hundred thousand Ukrainians will want to obtain refugee status in Poland. Other European countries should take this into account...”
