Poltorak reported to the Americans that Ukrainians “feel no fear of Russia” and asked for lethal weapons

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation in the East of Ukraine and on the borders with the Russian Federation.
“Despite the large army of the enemy, Ukrainians have no sense of fear of the Russian Federation, the Ukrainian military will defend every centimeter of their native land,” Poltorak reported to the Americans.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine informed representatives of the Armed Forces Committee of the US Congress about the progress of military reform and noted that the reform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is being carried out according to a clear plan. He also expressed gratitude to the government and people of the United States for supporting Ukraine in the fight for territorial integrity.
According to congressmen, the changes that have occurred in recent years are obvious. They expressed satisfaction with the results of the reforms that have already been implemented in the defense department.
Congressman Michael Rogers also noted that Ukraine has broad support in the US Congress. In particular, he noted that the army and Ukrainians demonstrated courage in the face of the threat, even despite resource limitations.
“The United States of America is interested in the success of Ukraine and the effective implementation of the initiated reforms,” he said.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and the possibility of providing Ukraine with new weapons, which Poltorak asked about.
