This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak when Petro Poroshenko signed changes to the State Budget 2017 with increased defense spending, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports with reference to the press service of the presidential administration.
Poltorak called the law very important, noting in particular that it will allow “to begin solving the strategic problem of providing ammunition.”
“We must be independent from the purchase of ammunition and supplies from other countries in the world. This decision is very important. The purchase of Oplot tanks and the production of missiles allows us to add strength to our military-industrial complex,” he said.
