The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak initiated and signed an order to restrict himself from the right to award civilians with the “Firearms” and “Cold Weapons” distinctions, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

He announced this on his Facebook page.

“From now on, these distinctions can only be awarded to military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other law enforcement agencies, as well as those who were retired or retired with the right to wear military uniforms. According to the order, citizens of the specified category can be awarded such awards only once. This decision will improve the regulatory framework for awards and determine a clear circle of people who can be awarded this distinction,” Poltorak noted.
