Poltorak told how Japan is investing billions of dollars in the Ukrainian army
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have received assistance from Japan totaling $1,85 billion over two years, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense reports.

This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak during negotiations with the Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine Summe Shigeki.
“Despite the fact that our countries are located far from each other, relations between Ukraine and Japan are an example of building effective relations. We hope for the further development and deepening of Ukrainian-Japanese relations,” the minister noted and presented the Japanese diplomat with the departmental badge of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine “Badge of Honor.”
The Ministry of Defense clarified that Japanese financial assistance was directed to various programs, and not only military ones.
“Recently, military hospitals in the security and defense sector received new medical equipment worth $2,5 million. In particular, medical institutions of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine - in the amount of 680 thousand dollars,” the message says.
