Poltorak is going to train future tank officers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kharkov
Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak advocates the creation of an institute for training officers of tank units and military units on the basis of the Faculty of Military Training of the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute".

The minister announced this today during a visit to Kharkov.
“I have decided to prepare a corresponding resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on the creation of an institute on the basis of the faculty for training officers of tank units and military units,” Poltorak said.
He noted that he considers the reduction of the Kharkov Tank Institute, which was carried out in the early 2000s, a mistake.
Poltorak also said that he discussed the issue of creating an institute with the leadership of the state enterprise "Malyshev Plant", the Morozov Design Bureau and the tank repair plant, and they previously agreed to participate in the training of officers. According to the minister, the first enrollment in the new institute could be held this year.
“I think that from the new academic year the government will support it, and we will be able to start recruiting for the first year,” said the head of the Ukrainian defense department.
According to Poltorak, the money necessary to improve the educational and material base of the faculty has already been allocated.
