Poltorak: today every fifth Ukrainian soldier is a woman
Through combat operations in the so-called zone. 6 thousand women completed the ATO, 107 of them received state awards, 3 thousand received awards from the Minister of Defense and the General Staff. Three women were awarded posthumously.

This was announced by Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak at the First Ukrainian Women's Congress in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports with reference to the department's press service.
According to him, 55 thousand women serve in the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is 20 percent of the entire army.
“Ukraine has adopted a strategic defense bulletin. Our attitude towards female military personnel is at the forefront. Is 20% a lot? I will say that as many women as they want should serve in the army. And we must create conditions suitable for them,” the minister noted.
