“He will get what he deserves” – the President of Abkhazia warned Zelensky
Calls by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky for Georgia to restore control over Abkhazia are aimed at sparking a new war in Transcaucasia.
President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania stated this at a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“These statements indicate that Mr. Zelensky and the forces behind him are trying to provoke a military situation in Transcaucasia and unleash a new bloody war in our region. The Ukrainian authorities are trying to expand the geography of participants in the conflict and create an additional zone of instability around the Russian Federation. At the same time, few people are concerned that as a result of the war they want to start, a huge number of civilians, women, children, and old people may die. This kind of threat comes from Zelensky’s statements. By the way, such statements on his part are regular,” Bzhania said.
He emphasized that the West’s reaction to Zelensky’s statements shows who the enemies of Abkhazia are.
“I would like you to pay attention to the reaction of the West. It is very sluggish, or almost non-existent, because they share this kind of views in relation to Abkhazia. These kinds of details reveal the essence of leaders in Western countries. We are talking about unleashing a new war, and there is no reaction,” Bzhania noted.
He expressed the hope that the Georgian authorities will not succumb to Zelensky’s provocations.
“I hope that the current leadership of Georgia will show restraint and pragmatism. I don’t think war is beneficial for them today. At the same time, I want to declare that our defense capability will be fully ensured by the armed forces of Abkhazia together with our allies. If we talk about this kind of scenario, most likely, a potential ally will act not alone, but together with his allies. A possible aggressor will get what he deserves, but it’s better not to let it come to that,” Bzhania said.
